Holidays > Exporting to Excel > Saving Recurring Holidays in MS-Excel Format |
|
To save the list of Recurring Holidays to an MS-Excel file, use the Data|export menu, or click on the toolbar button displaying the Microsoft Excel icon.
| • | Select Holidays, from the Data|Export sub-menu. |
| • | Q++ displays a dialog where you can specify a list of holidays sets. |
| • | Select holidays sets either by using the ADD button or by double-clicking on a holidays set. |
| • | Make your selection and click on the EXPORT button. |
You can follow the progression on the main windows status bar. This process is somewhat slower than other conversions since it must deal with conflicting holidays. When the exportation is complete, Q++ displays the results in an embedded Excel spreadsheet.
Each of the holidays sets you selected is on a different sheet of the workbook (the sheets can be accessed using the tabs at the bottom). In each sheet the data is presented in 9 columns, where each line represents a different recurring holiday.
The first 5 columns show sample dates for years ranging from Y-1 to Y+3, where Y is the year of today's date. Some of these cells may be empty for any of the following reasons :
| • | If the entire column is blank it probably means that holidays were not generated for that year (see Generation of Holidays). |
| • | This holiday may be an "arbitrary date" holiday, for which no date was supplied for that year (see Arbitrary Date Holidays ). |
| • | This holiday may have a "delete if conflict" in its rule. |
The next 2 columns refer the the graphical elements associated with the current holiday, whether the "watermark" option is set and which "holidays symbols" are associated with it. The last 2 columns display the name of the recurring holiday as it will appear in your diary output file, and the rule used to calculate the dates in the first 5 columns.
