Exporting Holidays to Excel: All Holidays (Basic)

Return to Introduction  Previous page  Next page

Exporting Holidays for a Range of Years gives you, year by year, all the occurrences of recurring holidays and one-time dates for a list of holidays sets. Use the Data|export menu, or click on the  toolbarbutton displaying the Microsoft Excel icon.

Select Holidays for a Range of Years, from the Data|Export sub-menu.

Select one or more Holidays Sets.

Select the starting and ending dates using the 2 calendars.

Select the Multiple occurences on the same line option.

Click on the EXPORT button.

You can follow the progression of the exportation on the main windows status bar. The exportation of holidays for a date range is the slowest of all exportations since it must deal with conflicting holidays and one-time-dates. The result of the exportation is an Excel workbook displaying recurring holidays and one-time dates of all selected holidays sets together, but where each year is displayed on a different sheet (see the tabs at the bottom).

By default, the option Multiple occurences on the same line is set to false, and multiple holidays occurences for the same date are exported one after the other, with second and above occurences indicated by a faint grey color.

If the option Multiple occurences on the same line is set to true, then multiple occurences are combined into a single line, denoted in bold. Holidays symbols and Holidays Abbreviations for all the holidays occuring on the same date are concatenated, and other elements are either left blank if they are not common to all occurences, or displayed if they are the same for all occurences.

If you have selected Sort Abbreviations, then Q++ sorts alphabetically the concatenated string made up of all the abbreviations of all the holidays occurring on a given date.

Note that this sorting is case-insensitive (ie. gbr occurs after FRA) and depends on the text of the abbreviation, not the name of the Holidays Set.
