Scripts > Diary Generation > Diary Generation Options > Diary Generation Options : QuarkXPress |
|
The QuarkXPress Diary Generation Options below are used to tweak the way QuarkXPress behaves during diary generation (a link is provided whenever a property can be used to set this option for the current script or as a default).
Strip Style Sheets |
This option, available for Quark versions 4 and above may accelerate the page copying stage of diary generation and avoid some potential problems when combining Quark files containing conflicting style sheets. Generally the use of Style Sheets is discouraged. |
Force saving OPF as previous Quark version |
This option, available for Quark versions 5 and above (X > 4), tells Q++ to save the generated output file as a Quark X-1 file, although the file may have been generated using Quark X. The default value for this option can be set in the QuarkXPress page of the Preferences dialog. |
Use Main Grid as seed for Generation |
If this property is turned on (the default), then the generated output file of a script will use the Main Grid of your script instead of blank pages. This means that the QuarkXPress preferences of your Main Grid (such as superscript values, em-spaces, ...) are applied automatically to generated output files. |
Master Pages |
This option, available for Quark versions 4 and above, will significantly accelerate the page copying stage of diary generation. Generally the use of Master Pages is discouraged in Q++ because the GridTemplates already serve the same purpose, in a much more powerful manner. Having 2 levels of "masters" can only lead to user (and sometimes Quark) confusion. |
Quark Format |
This option, is available for Quark versions 4 and above. Use this option to control if the output file is saved by Quark in QuarkXPress' Single-Language format or QuarkXPress' Multi-Language format. Note that this property is not related to the Languagesproperty of a diary, but to the difference in output formats between the US version of Quark (single language) and the European Passport version of Quark (multiple languages). |
Remember that any changes you make to any of the options in this dialog that corresponds to a ScriptLine Property will be reflected in a changed value for that property for the current script. If you want such a change to be standard for all new script created in the future, then you can change the default values of all the diary generation options that correspond to ScriptLine Property by going to the Execution Preferences.
