Additional Comments |
appears for the first time |
The first time you encounter a specific error (ie. with a new message in between the [] braces), you should try to click on the continue application button. This instructs Q++ to ignore the error and try to continue. |
Usually, if an error has occurred in a seldom used part of Q++, this will allow you to continue using Q++ normally. Note that technical support will automatically receive a detailed report of this error with the nightly activity report, so that this error can be fixed. |
appears repeatedly |
If the same error message appears repeatedly, then you should use the mail error report to notify technical support of your problem immediately. Once the report has been sent, you should still try to use the continue application button, and then immediately close Q++ normally, before trying to start it again. If that does not work (ie. an error dialog comes back once more), then use the close application dialog to force Q++ to close down. |
Important: if you cannot use the mail error report button because you do not have an internet connection, and you can only send a screenshot, then make sure that you open the dialog by clicking on the show error report button and select the call stack panel, as shown below) before taking a screenshot. Sending a screenshot of the closed dialog (as it appears above) supplies no useful information. |
appears after a Quark crash |
You should try to use the continue application button, and then immediately close Q++ normally, before trying to start it again. If that does not work (ie. an error dialog comes back once more), then use the close application dialog to force Q++ to close down. |
If you have problems launching Q++ again after closing it down as suggested in the column on the left, then you should make sure Q++ is closed and run the Q++LockFilesCleaner.EXE program located in the Q:\QppShare\ folder. |
refers to a database error |
If the displayed message in the [] braces ressembles any of the messages listed in the topic on database errors, then try to use the continue application button, and then immediately close Q++ normally, before trying to start it again. If that does not work (ie. an error dialog comes back once more), then use the close application dialog to force Q++ to close down. |
If you have problems launching Q++ again after closing it down as suggested in the column on the left, then you should make sure Q++ is closed and run the Q++LockFilesCleaner.EXE program located in the Q:\QppShare\ folder. |
says that Q++ seems frozen |
Use the close application dialog to force Q++ to close down. |
This message almost never appears incorrectly, but in some cases, with slower PCs and networks, it has been observed even when Q++ was not frozen. If you think that this might be the case, you can try to use the continue application button. If Q++ is really frozen then the dialog will appear again after 75 seconds, giving you the opportunity to use the close application button to force Q++ to close down. |
Remember that sending a screenshot of the closed dialog (as it appears above) supplies absolutely no useful information to technical support. If you cannot use the mail error report button because you do not have an internet connection, and you can only send a screenshot, then you should open the dialog by clicking on the show error report button and select the call stack panel, as shown below) before taking a screenshot.

As usual, if you encounter an application error, do not hesitate to contact technical support for assistance.
