Administration

Return to Introduction  Previous page  Next page

The main sections of the Administration chapter are:

Q++ Installation

How to install, or re-install, the Q++ Server and Q++ Workstations.

Q++ Updates

How to update the Q++ Studio main program, its documentation and sample databases, as well as your license files, if necessary.

Q++ Files and Locations

A detailed description of the different folder used by Q++ Studio, both on the workstations and the server.

Q++ Server Settings

The settings that can be used to customize the way in which the Q++ Server functions, particularly at night, during its nightly maintenance phase.

Q++ Server Tools

The various programs and tolls located on the server, how they work, and under which conditions you may want to use them manually.

The purpose of designing an administrator is twofold :

Being aware of the details of Q++'s installation (the actual installation is done by Alter Ego), and installing regular updates to Q++, received by email.

Being the only person to accomplish certain tasks on the shared databases. These are intensive tasks, when all users must be logged-off.

Of course the administrator is also the main contact with Q++ technical support and is usually the in-house resource person.
